Yoga Teachers are Doing it.

Yoga Teachers are Doing it.
Claudette Pelletier-Hannah

On Saturday I learned that a yoga teacher at my gym is using EFT tapping in her yoga class. That was good news to me. As much as I know EFT is gaining ground in applications and locations around the world, that was the first instance I heard of EFT in a yoga class.

If you haven’t heard of EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), often called tapping because you tap on yourself, let me explain.

Simply put, EFT is a tool to regulate your nervous system. In other words, if you’re feeling stressed, anxious, fearful, in pain, stuck, or off your game in any way, you tap on acupressure points to change your stress response. Cortisol is reduced. Relaxation kicks in. New perspective, insight and understanding are achieved when the stressor is minimized. The problem dissolves, sometimes in minutes.

That really is simplifying it.

What you won’t notice is there is also change in your DNA expression, and your immune function improves. You’re altering neural connections in your brain. Like yoga, you’re balancing the energy in your body.

With EFT, you can get very specific with problems you want to solve – the more specific the better the outcome, in fact. For example, you can tap on your craving for jelly doughnuts with your morning coffee – and release the craving! You can tap on your resistance to giving up that craving. You can tap on the moment you adopted a belief that you’re not good, smart or thin enough.

This sounds a little weird, right? Many years ago we thought yoga and meditation were a little weird too. Now it’s everywhere. It won’t be long before EFT reaches the same status.

Tapping is here to stay because it works amazingly well. Research shows that in many applications it works as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, only faster. If you like research, look here. If you like TEDtalks, look here.

I want everyone to know about EFT. As a trained practitioner I see the incredible results first hand. That’s why I’m sharing this today. I hope you’ll share it too.

The 11th annual Tapping World Summit starts February 25th and runs to March 6th. It’s an online series of audio interviews with experts in the field, sharing their knowledge, methods and experience on topics of all kinds. Register here. No fee to pay.

Of course you can talk to me any time. Or take a yoga class. You never know where EFT will show up next.
