How long will this take?

How long will this take?

For probably thirty years I’ve been studying, practicing and working in personal development. On some days I feel like I haven’t learned anything.

Or I’m still learning. Over and over and over again.

If you’re still trying to get healthy, or lose weight, and are wondering how long it will take, just take a deep breath and keep going.

Be it with physical size or personal growth, you don’t just arrive at a destination one day and say, “Okay, now I can rest. I don’t have to try any more.” That’s a fantasy. As Dr. Arya Sharma, bariatric specialist says, “Obesity has no cure, only treatment. When the treatment stops obesity returns.”

Most of us have the good fortune of coming into the world perfectly healthy. But it isn’t something we should take for granted. Just stop brushing your teeth and see what happens.

Everything is related, as you know. Oral health is connected to overall health. Managing stress impacts physical health, including your weight. And so on.

If we think of any pursuit as being without a beginning or an end, just lots of middle, we just might enjoy the journey, and be more forgiving of ourselves with the hills and valleys of our performance.
